Prefabricated building, the pilot of green building
When someone mentions “green building” to you, what key words come to mind? Low carbon, energy conservation, emission reduction, environmental protection, sustainable development, reducing environmental damage, maintaining ecological balance and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Of course, it could be green.
But what exactly is green building?
The world’s first green building standard was published in Britain in 1990. The definition of “green building” is gradually becoming clear, that is, in the whole life cycle of the building, it maximizes the conservation of resources (energy saving, land saving, water saving, material saving), protects the environment to reduce pollution, provides people with healthy, applicable and efficient use space, and is harmonious with nature. In addition to the general sense of planting flowers and grass, roof greening, landscape, “green” refers to the lifestyle and spiritual green, but also a combination of guiding ideology and technical means — how to avoid the destruction of the environment in the building process, how to make full use of the natural resources of the environment, how not to destroy the basic ecological balance.
At present, prefab building has become the mainstream construction mode in the developed countries of the world, mainly because as a part of industrial civilization, prefab building has formed a comprehensive system in design concept, materials, manufacturing technology and other aspects, and it is also the inevitable product of the development of the building industry to a certain extent. At present, the state actively promotes prefab buildings, in line with the new standards of green and smart cities. The state promulgated《13th five-year prefab construction action plan》 , prefab buildings will account for more than 15% of new buildings and more than 50% of green building materials in prefab buildings by 2020. In recent years, the state has been stepping up policy support for prefab construction, encouraging enterprises to carry out factory manufacturing and assembly construction, reduce construction waste, and promote the recycling of construction waste.
In addition, prefabricated buildings are more energy-saving and environmentally friendly than traditional buildings. Prefabricated buildings are particularly effective in terms of water consumption, construction sewage and construction waste. In addition, prefab building industrialization has the advantages of high degree and short construction period, which fit the concept of green and energy-saving building. Compared with the traditional cast-in-place method, the prefabricated building can significantly reduce the maintenance cost of the later use, save water by about 50%, reduce the amount of mortar by about 60%, save wood by about 80%, reduce construction energy consumption by about 20%, reduce construction waste by more than 70%, and significantly reduce construction dust and noise pollution. Compared with cast-in-place buildings, the total construction period of prefabricated buildings is shorter, and high-rise buildings can be shortened by 2-3 months.
Prefab building is a major change in the way of construction, from extensive construction to high-end manufacturing, is a profound change in the development of the construction industry. It is of great significance to the future development of China’s construction industry.
